Several teams of runners compete at Cedar Lakes in Covered Bridge Invitational

The annual Covered Bridge Invitational featured a bevy of teams to compete on a gorgeous day at Cedar Lakes.

Ripley’s Lady Vikings placed second among 13 teams by scoring 90 points. Hurricane took first with 39.

Lady Viking Ellie Hosaflook finished fourth overall in a time of 20:25.

Hurricane’s Audrey Hall took the girls title in a time of 19:09.

Ripley’s running pack included: Haleigh McCune (14th, 21:20), Opal Huffman (19th, 22:03), Tori Fisher (27th, 23:07), Emma Shockey (32nd, 23:23), Emily Dunlap (51st, 24:52) and Corbin Casto (62nd, 25:36).

Ravenswood finished fourth with 125 points.

Emily Wratchford, Samantha Maxson and Maci Mosser were all in the Top 20. Wratchford was 21st in a time of 22:14.66, Maxson was next at 22nd with a time of 22:14.83, and Mosser was 26th in a time of 23:06.

The Ravenswood girls running crew also included: Hadleigh McGoskey (31st, 23:21), Kadi Price (33rd, 23:27). McKenzi Nesselroad (47th, 24:39), Brooke Meadows (49th, 24:47), Zoie Meadows (61st, 25:35) and Briana Sotomayor (68th, 25:59).

Ravenswood’s boys runners were paced by Cade Curfman, who was 28th in a time of 18:38. The Devils placed 13th among 19 squads with a team total of 354.

Others competing were: Tucker Gorrell (88th, 21:10), Wyatt Nickerson (112th, 22:03), Blair Anderson (113th, 22:04) and Bailey Postlethwait (148th, 24:12).

Ripley’s boys were 14th with 357 points.

Max Meadows led the way by placing 20th in a time of 18:07.

Others on the course for the Vikings included: Davin Rose (71st, 20:20), Cole Neal (103rd, 21:30), Oliver Marks (146th, 23:50) and Trey Greer (168th, 26:22).

Winfield was first in the boys race with 38 followed by Hurricane with 47.


In the middle school division, Ravenswood’s boys were sixth with 185 points. Competing were: Max Dauch (10th, 13:21), Marcus Williams (23rd, 13:44), Mason Kerns (49th, 14:59), Isaiah Nesselroad (56th, 15:40), Cole McGoskey (87th, 17:18) and Ralphie Rhodes (153rd, 24:58).

Running for the girls team were: Gwynn Gorrell (3rd, 13:28), Riley Curfman (23rd, 15:12), Caelyn Postlethwait (106th, 10:40) and Madison Delong (110th, 19:44). Those four were among 155 runners.

Ripley’s girls were ninth overall with 268 points. Competing were Lady Knopp (16th, 14:50), Breahnia Dobbins (40th, 16:01), Adelyn Groves (79th, 18:13), Jacelyn Richard (101st, 19:21) and Alee Greer (123rd, 21:27).

Ripley’s boys were 13th with 312 points. Runners included: Eli Huffman (50th, 15:07), Mason Pauley (52nd, 15:16), Kaiden Matheny (58th, 15:45), Milo Hodges (132nd, 20:22) and Keaton Crutchfield (138th, 21:20).
