Ravenswood started postseason play by having its way with Wirt County, 10-0, in the opening game of the Class A Region IV, Section 2 Tournament.

The following game was one of near epic proportion as the Devils, the No. 2 seed, just missed gaining victory in an amazing comeback with top-seeded Wahama.

In the end, the White Falcons prevailed, 11-10.

Usually, that spells disaster for the team dealing with the deficit.

But all Ravenswood did was keep the White Falcons off the board the rest of the way and nearly produced the comeback of all comebacks by scoring 10 runs of their own.

After watching the White Falcons put their 11 across the plate, the Devils edged a bit closer with four in the top of the second.

After a scoreless third, Ravenswood put together a big six-run fourth inning to make it an 11-10 count.

It would be as close as Ravenswood would get in its gallant effort to pull off the win.
