Devilette softball team wins over Braxton in LKC showdown

In a placement game for the Little Kanawha Conference, Cindy Carmichael’s Ravenswood Devilettes captured a 9-0 win over Braxton County.

The Devilettes erupted for eight runs in the third inning and went on for a five-inning shortened game victory.

Ravenswood collected 11 hits in the win while Devilette pitchers Rikki Hatcher and Jamie Naylor limited Braxton to just one.

At the plate, Hattie Joe Kennedy led the way with three hits, including two doubles.

Kennedy also drove home two runs in the win.

Emily Wratchford, Braylin Tabor and Carlee Hupp all had two hits.

Tabor drove home a pair of runs while Wratchford was credited with one RBI.

Other hitters were Emily Curtis and Brooke Meadows, who each banged out a single.

Hatcher went three innings, allowing the lone hit and a walk. Naylor pitched two innings in the win.

The win was Ravenswood's third in four games and moved the Devilettes to 13-14 as they headed off to sectional postseason play.
