Devilettes battle Lady Vikings on diamond

A second meeting of the season between rivals Ravenswood and Ripley in girls softball saw the Lady Vikings capture an 11-0 win.

A couple of four-run innings paved the way for Ripley, guided by head coach Ken Swisher.

Elli Hershey had quite the day for Ripley with a pair of two-run homers to go along with a RBI. Her blasts came in the first and fourth.

Ripley jumped to a 4-0 lead in the contest at Lady Viking Park.

Kaitlyn Swisher, Kyra Winter, Aliyah Baldwin and Kristabelle Carte all had doubles in the contest. Winter and Carte also collected a single in the win.

Sidney Varney and Mya Casto laced singles for Ripley.

Chloe Shinn gave up just two hits in five innings of work pitching. She struck out eight and walked one.

Emily Wratchford doubled and Blake Thompson singled for Ravenswood.

Jamie Naylor pitched three innings for Ravenswood with Reaygan Tribett going one for head coach Cindy Carmichael’s crew.

Ripley took the junior varsity game, 12-1.

Swisher, Carte, Varney, Casto and Jenna Farrell all had two hits. Casto drove home three runs while Farrell and Carte plated two each.

McKenna Hall had a double while Cummings and Shinn had base hits.

Hershey and Varney handled Ripley’s pitching duties.

Rikki Hatcher had a solo home run for Ravenswood.

Carlee Hupp had two singles. Libby Hall and Wratchford had base hits.
