Parkersburg Catholic’s girls basketball team was expected to be strong in 2021.

So far, so good.

Ravenswood’s Devilettes recently had to deal with those Crusaderettes, who aim to make a run at one of the four state championships on May 2. That would be in Class AA.

Cara Williams’ red and black fell by a final of 63-39 count as Catholic moved its record to a perfect 12-0. The loss sent Ravenswood to 5-7.

Aaliyah Brunny netted 27 for top-ranked PC while Leslie Huffman scored 14.

Ravenswood had a pair of double figure scorers in Annie Hunt and Hadleigh McGoskey, who each had 10.

Emily Wrachford finished with seven points for Ravenswood while Evelyn Stoneman scored six. Maci Mosser, Libby Hall and Sami Maxon each contributed two.

Ravenswood nailed 15 shots from the field and was 6-of-9 at the free throw line.
