Ravenswood track and field competes at LKC Challenge and Ritchie meets

Ravenswood’s girls track and field squad racked up 36 points in the recent Little Kanawha Conference Challenge at County Stadium in Spencer.

Lauren Haynes, a freshman, placed high for the Devilettes by finishing second in a time of 59.01.

Two relay squads also finished second.

The 4x100 team of freshman Maci Mosser, freshman Lauren Raynes, freshman Morgan Smith and sophomore Haley Ward turned in a time of 1:00.69.

The same four had a time of 2:09.94 in the 4x200.

Ward was fourth in the long jump with her best leap being 11-07.50.

Belle Damron was fourth in the in the discus with a throw of 65-10.

Mosser was fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 31.14.

Raynes was sixth in the 200 with a time of 31.15. Mosser was sixth in the 100 with a clocking of 15.51.

Roane County won the meet with 202 points. Clay was second with 97.

In the Ritchie County/Pizza House Invitational, Ravenswood’s girls scored six points.

The Devilettes garnered fifth in a trio of events.

Individually, Ward took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 12-02.75.

The 4x100 team was fifth with a time of 1:01.47. The unit consisted of Mosser, Raynes, Smith and Ward.

The 4x200 squad turned a time of 2:09.84. Mosser, Raynes, Smith and Ward also made up that relay.

Williamstown and Doddridge County had strong meets to finish 1-2 with 153 and 125 points, respectively.

In the boys competition, Ravenswood’s 4x400 squad was sixth with a time of 4:25.89. Sophomore Blair Anderson, sophomore Cade Curfman, sophomore Brandon Haynes and freshman Davey Ramsey made up the relay.

Anderson, Curfman, Haynes and Ramsey also were the competitors for the 4x800 team that placed sixth with a time of 10:28.71.

Doddridge and Ritchie had quite the team race with the Bulldogs taking the crown, 126-124.
