It was certainly a season to remember for Ravenswood Red Devil soccer.

Head coach Todd Murray’s 2021 crew produced several outstanding accomplishments.

The Devils finished with a 17-5 record and were ranked 8th in Class A.

Ravenswood advanced to the sectional final before being sidelined by No. 4 Williamstown.

Red Devil performers have earned several awards since the season came to an end.

Blake Bibbee was Honorable Mention All-State at the keeper position. Bibbee had 106 saves on the season while also scoring a goal.

Bibbee also earned First Team Region 4 honors.

Teammates Kaden Williams, Ethan Tanner, Michael Dauch and Grant Philbrook were Second Team recipients.

For the first time ever, the Little Kanawha Conference recognized soccer players.

Bibbee, Williams and Dauch were all First Team All-LKC selections.

Tanner, Philbrook and Colton Angus earned Second Team honors.

Dylan Winter scored 15 goals during the season to lead the way offensively.

Angus had 14 with Dauch and Ethan Fry both contributing 10.

Dauch was the assist leader with 13.

“One goal I always have is to have every player score at least one goal. We have come close in the past, but this year all 20 players were able to score and 16 of them were able to score multiple times,” Murray said proudly.

On the prevent side, Murray was equally excited with how things turned out in 2021.

“I’m pretty happy with my defense, they were very strong especially in games against No. 1 Point Pleasant, No. 4 Williamstown and No. 7 Scott,” Murray said. “We were able to keep games close to 0-0 near halftime of those games. Very proud of the team to hold such good teams for that long.”

Point Pleasant would ultimately play for the Class AA-A state championship in West Virginia.

It is something for Ravenswood to build upon heading into the 2022 campaign.
