Ripley Middle falls to Hurricane, 61-51

Outscoring Ripley in three of four quarters on March 17, Hurricane captured a 61-51 victory in a middle school varsity game.

Hurricane was up 16-12 after the opening quarter and increased its lead to 29-21 by the intermission. Ripley would cut the advantage to six going into the fourth quarter but would ultimately fall by 10.

Davin Rose was Ripley Middle’s top scorer with 16.

Sam Varney also hit double figures with 11.

Bryson Casto and J.T. Thaxton each scored six in the loss. Jackson Curry finished with five and Noah Casto added three.

In the junior varsity game, Ripley Middle pulled out a 50-45 victory.

Blake Justice rifled in 18 to pace the offense. Draden Rose joined him in double figures with 12.

Others scoring were Bryson Casto (7), Brady McVay (6), Landon Meadows (4) and Kyler Doss (3).
