Ravenswood Middle hosts CC event

The Ravenswood Middle School Invitational Cross Country Meet saw the home team place third in both the girls and boys divisions on October 17th on the Eastwood Course.

The girls' team had 54 points with Winfield coming out on top by producing a team total of 41. Hurricane was second with 48. Charleston Catholic finished with 99 and Ripley 103.

Riley Sotomayer was second with a time of 12:42. Her clocking was the third fastest on the course in five years.

Gwyn Gorrell was sixth in a time of 13:17.

The Ravenswood running attack also featured Riley Curfman (11th, 13:50), Kadi Price (15th, 14:24), McKenzie Nesselroad (20th, 14:50), Briana Sotomayor (27th, 16:05), Zoie Meadows (31st, 16:28) and Ryley Thompson (41st, 17:49).

Ravenswood registered 74 points in the boys' division. Winfield won with 32 while Hurricane’s 36 was good for second. Charleston Catholic had 103 and Ripley 116.

Bailey Postlethwait was the leader of an attack that had all five runners in the Top 20. Postlethwait had a ninth-place finish in a time of 12:48.

Meanwhile, Riker Postlethwait (14th, 13:01), Marcus Williams (15th, 13:02), Wyatt Nickerson (16th, 13:04), and Tucker Gorrell (20th, 13:13) also produced solid performances for Ravenswood.
