Ripley Remembers 9/11
Close to 3,000 people died 19 years ago in the horrific terrorist attacks on our nation on Sept. 11, 2001. In remembrance of those who tragically lost their lives, Jackson County residents gathered on the Courthouse Lawn for a short ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020.
Ripley Baptist Temple pastor Rick Perrine led the service with special guest speaker Rick Gobble, Chief of the Ripley Fire Department.
Mayor Carolyn Rader shared her memory of the event and Christanna Creel, Seth Greenlee, and Holly Creel shared their musical talents by singing “America the Beautiful.”
