Charity Challenge spotlights Ripley Rotary and JGH
The 2020 Jackson County Community Foundation Virtual Charity Challenge has selected 18 non-profit organizations to participate. Online donations through jccfinc.org can be made through Oct. 31.
Each week two groups will be highlighted. During that “Donation Week,” checks and cash may be received at the Foundation located at City National Bank in Ripley in support of those two non-profits. Online donations can continue until the end of Virtual Charity Challenge.
Ripley Rotary and Jackson General Hospital’s “Donation Week” is Aug. 30 through Sept. 5.
The goal of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Our particular club is focused on being educated about the community around us by the people directly involved in each facet of life here, providing volunteer help where needed, & running Jackson County’s longest charitable giving activity, Adopt-A-Family.
Mommy & Me Classes are an eight-week program. Providing a focus on parenting with/reflection, respect, and connection. Teaching developmental play, building relationships, social experiences, and offering informative answers to common parenting questions. Each week will build on a new topic. Items needed are toys, mats, books, sensory-rich items, etc. Babies enjoy exploring, reacting to new sounds, sensations, and environments. Creating and strengthening neural pathways, enhancing bond with parent and child, improving a better understanding of child development. Covering these levels of development: Newborn to 12 months, one-year to three-years, and three-years to five-years.
