The Ravenswood Middle School boys cross country team claimed the championship of the season-ending Central West Virginia Athletic Conference Meet while the girls placed second.

The conference meet was staged in Ravenswood.

The boys were led by Riley Postlethwait, who finished third with a time of 12:43. Ryker Postlethwait was fourth with a 12:45 clocking.

Three other Ravenswood runners placed in the Top 10 – Marcus Williams (6th, 13:26), Tucker Gorrell (7th, 13:27), and Wyatt Nickerson (8th, 13:34).

Ravenswood scored 28 team points for the title.

Though Ravenswood and Braxton each finished with 37 points in the girls' division team scoring, Braxton was awarded first by having the better placement of its second runner.

Ravenswood’s Riley Sotomayor was the individual champ with a time of 12:22. Her time was the best on the course in five years.

Gwynn Gorrell was fifth with a time of 13:23, Riley Curfman placed eighth in a time of 14:07, and Kadi Price was 10th in a time of 14:41.

Also competing for Ravenswood were: McKenzie Nesselroad (13th, 15:07), Brianna Sotomayor (15th, 15:33), Zoie Meadows (24th, 16:23), and Ryley Thompson (30th, 18:31).
