Ravenswood’s Red Devilettes kept their winning streak going as they headed to West Union on Oct. 28 to take on the Lady Bulldogs of Doddridge County.

In a best-out-of-five set match, coach Chris Michael’s varsity Devilettes claimed the victory in three out of five sets played: 15-25, 24-26, 25-14, 25-12, 15-11.

This win brought Ravenswood’s season record to 18-14.

Senior Hannah Rhodes led the Red Devilettes scoring with 26 points and spiking going 29/33 (9 kills).

In JV action, the Lady Bulldogs took a bite out of the Red Devilettes claiming the win: 25-13, 25-11.

Leading the scoring for the JV Devilettes was Marissa Smith with 4 points; followed by Julia McCoy with 3; Shylin Butcher, Lilly White, and Ali Milhoan with 2 points each; and Kaitlin Miller with 1.

On Oct. 16, Ravenswood’s JV Red Devilettes defeated Covenant Christian in the first three sets of a best-out-of-five set match. That game was followed by a win over Webster Springs on Oct. 22 where the JV girls claimed the victory in two out of three sets: 25-15, 16-25, 25-9.

Shylin Butcher led the scoring with 14 points; Lexi Smith added 11; Lilly White pitched in 7 points; Victoria Knox, Marissa Smith, and Kaitlin Miller contributed 5each; Julia McCoy had 4 points; with Olivia Fitzpatrick and Lilly Hopper getting 3 points apiece.

The JV Devilettes are now at a season record of 3-8 with recent losses to Ripley’s Lady Vikings and the Lady Dots of Poca.
