Ripley Viking volleyball team hosted Point Pleasant Thursday night, Sept. 3, for their season opener. The Lady Knights came out strong and took the first set from the Lady Vikings 25-22. The Lady Vikings started the second set out with strong serving from Emilee Jordan and Kirsten Hinzman to start out with a lead. The Vikings kept the lead for most of the set and won 25-19.

The next two sets were anyone’s game. The Lady Vikings worked amazingly together as a team, were mentally tough throughout the match, and played great defense. They pulled out the win for the next two sets and won by scores of 25-23, 26-24 to get their first win of the season under their belt.

The Lady Vikings took to the road for a quad match at Wheeling Park on Saturday, and are scheduled to play at Charleston Catholic on Wednesday and Hurricane on Thursday. (Could change based on COVID results.)
