ST. MARYS – Coming off an open date last weekend, Coach Kemp Kelly’s Class A No. 22-ranked Ravenswood Red Devils (4-4) have a big opportunity and a big challenge against top-flight opposition, when they travel to St. Marys to take on the undefeated, Class A No. 4-ranked Blue Devils (8-0).

Coach Jodi Mote’s Blue Devils have had the Red Devils’ number for several years, so a Ravenswood win Friday night would be huge not only for this season but in terms of breaking up the recent one-sided complexion of the series.

The Blue Devils own wins over Ritchie County (42-8), Wirt County (61-6), Parkersburg Catholic (43-0), Marietta, OH (51-36), Williamstown (21-7), Calhoun County (57-0), Magnolia (49-7) and South Harrison (47-6).

The Red Devils also own wins over Ritchie County (44-8) and Wirt County (56-30), while losing to Williamstown (55-12 without the services of leading rusher Alex Casto).

St. Marys has averaged scoring 46.4 points per game (ppg), while allowing just 8.8 ppg. Only Marietta and Williamstown have managed to score in double digits against the Blue Devils.

The Red Devils have averaged scoring 27.6 ppg, while allowing 26.9 ppg. The Devils have already quadrupled their win total from 2015 and look to finish strong.

Jaiden Smith (5-10, 184, Jr.) leads the St. Marys rushing attack (204.6 yards per game) with 96 ypg and 13.3 points per game.

Will Billeter (6-3, 170, Sr.) quarterbacks the Blue Devils and averages 105 yards passing per game.

Jacob Northrup (6-3, 240, Sr.) and Dylan Gray (6-0, 192, Jr.) lead the stingy St. Marys defense.

Kickoff Friday night at the new Bill Hanlin Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.
