PT. PLEASANT -  The host Pt. Pleasant Black Knights won their first postseason soccer game in five years Monday at the expense of Coach Todd Murray’s Ravenswood Red Devils in a 4-0 decision in the opening round of the Class AA-A Region 4, Section 1 Tournament.

The Knights led 2-0 at the half, as Austin Adams took a long pass from Alex Carlisle and got a shot past diving Red Devils keeper Josh Mize for a goal in the 11th minute. Point scored again in the 37th minute with Carlisle scoring off an assist by Austin Nott.

Alex Lenkov scored in the 45th minute for a 3-0 Black Knight advantage, and Adams scored his second goal on a breakaway in the 60th minute to make the final 4-0.

For Ravenswood, Mize played a solid keeper game with 15 saves to his credit.

Point outshot Ravenswood, 28-9, and 19-6 in shots on goal.

For Ravenswood, seniors Anthony Boggs, Kelton Bowers, Dylan Henry and Mike Miller closed out their high school soccer careers. The Red Devils finished 6-11-4 on the season. 

At Eastwood Monday, visiting Pt. Pleasant closed to door on the Lady Red Devils’ season with a 3-0 shut-out in the opening round of sectional tournament play.

It was the final soccer game for seniors Claudia Cubides, Kenzie Hinzman, Chesney Hudson, Haylie Reynolds and Kylee Williams. The Lady Devils capped a 6-13-1 season.
