RIPLEY – Ripley’s girls finished fourth at the Mountain State Athletic Conference Meet last week on the home course at Cedar Lakes while the boys placed seventh.

The Lady Vikings compiled a team total of 106 points in the meet, finishing behind champion Cabell Midland (43), Parkersburg (55) and Beckley (90). 

Sophomore Mackenzie Gillispe just missed a Top 10 finish by placing 11th in a time of 22:17.18.

The Lady Viking lineup featured freshman Olivia Gandee (19th, 22:33.48), sophomore Cassidy Miller (20th, 22:38.24), sophomore Kelly Longanacre (31st, 23:16.24), sophomore Allison Knox (40th, 24:04.14), freshman Catie McKinney (24:38.30), senior Laurel Miller (55th, 25:01.65), senior Allison Phillips (84th, 27:56.58) and senior Julia Hunter (119th, 33:23.37).

In the boys division, Ripley finished seventh with a team total of 209. Cabell Midland took the crown by registering a meet-best 37. 

Senior Dalton Fisher placed 24th (17:45.96) to lead the Vikings.

The Ripley lineup featured junior Drew Swisher (49th, 19:15.27), freshman Morgan Galusha (55th, 19:23.78), sophomore Bradley Yost (62nd, 19:38.74), freshman Chase Casto (102nd, 21:20.56), freshman Gabriel Zuniga (106th, 21:31.74), freshman Garrison Phillips (107th, 21:37.27) and sophomore Easton Perry (147th, 23:32.78). 

Both teams will compete in the Class AAA Region III Meet today at Meadowood Park in Tornado.  

Berths for next Saturday’s (October 29) State Meet at Cabell Midland High School in Ona will be on the line.
