PARKERSBURG - Senior tri-capitan Anthony Boggs scored another hat trick (three goals) to lead Coach Todd Murray’s Ravenswood Red Devils to a 4-2 win over host Parkersburg Cathoic in a road soccer game Monday. Jacob Tanner added the Red Devils’ other goal for the game.

Colton Clark notch a pair of assists; and Kelton Bowers and Macaden Cooper, one assist each for Ravenswood.

Parkersburg Catholic scored the first goal of the game with a shot that went over Red Devil keeper .Josh Mize’s fingertips  

The Red Devils evened the score on a corner kick when Catholic failed to clear the ball, and Kelton Bowers found Jacob Tanner who put it past all their defenders.

The game was tied,1-1, at the half.

The Crusaders  went up quickly 2-1 as the second half of play began. Josh Mize took a hard shot which deflected upwards and bounced back towards the goal before being swatted out of bounds.   The officials ruled it a scored goal.   

 

Ravenswood then turned up the heat and scored three unanswered goals to close out the game, 4-2.

 

Colton Clark found Anthony Boggs twice and Boggs was able to finish.    Then Macaden Cooper fought hard for a lose ball in the box and was able to get it to Boggs, who knocked it in for a hat trick. 

Tuesday at Eastwood, the Red Devils fell to Williamstown , 6-1.

Boggs scored the Red Devils; lone goal in the 69th minute with his team trailing 6-0. Ravenswood narrowly missed another goal late when Tanner’s angle shot deflected off the cross bar.

The Yellow Jackets scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute when Janthan Petty scored off an assist from Dakota Hammer.

Williamstown made it 2-0 in the 19th minute on an unassisted goal by Issac Bozgraf.

Josh Folwell upped the Jacket lead to 3-0 in the 18th minute with a goal off an Petty assist. Folwell scored again with an unassisted goal in the 36th minute,and Williamstown led 4-0 at the half.

Petty scored his second goal of the game in the 42nd minute off an assist by Hammer; and Jonathan Dietz drilled in the final Williamstown goal on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.

On the night, Williamstown outshot the Devils, 26-8. The Jackets had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Ravenswood had nine free kicks to the Jackets’ six.

The Red Devils (4-6-2) host a rematch with Belpre today (Thursday) at Eastwood.
