CHARLESTON – Ravenswood’s Runnin’ Red Devils rolled past Point Pleasant, 65-32, on Tuesday afternoon inside the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum.
For a second straight year the Devils were a part of the three-day Little General Shootout In The Big House.
Mick Price’s club hopes to be back at the CCCC next month as one of the eight Class AA teams to compete in the annual State Tournament.
Not only would they like to return, but would love the results enjoyed on Tuesday against the Big Blacks.
The game was tied at 0-0 for a mere 11 seconds before Ravenswood scored and owned the lead the rest of the way. Ravenswood shot out to a 23-9 advantage. The Devils increased the lead to 42-15 by the break.
“We jumped on them early,” Price said. “It was a good win for us to get after a tough loss (double overtime) at Williamstown on Saturday.”
Ravenswood is now 11-7. Point dropped to 3-15.
“They’ve got some players,” Price said of a team his squad has now beaten twice this season.
Isaiah Morgan’s 20 led Ravenswood. Logan Jarrett added 16 and J.T. Ball came off the bench to score 10.
Riley Heatherington finished with seven, Hayden Mandrake scored five, Stephen Dawson produced four and Blake Bennett put three in the books.
Morgan had four of Ravenswood’s seven 3s.
Ravenswood was 26-of-49 from the field and 7-of-14 behind the arc. The Devils made all six free throw attempts.
Dawson was the top rebounder for the Devils with 13. Mandrake had six assists while Heatherington came away with two steals and two blocks.
Bradley Gibbs was Point’s leader in points with 11.
Ravenswood returns to action Friday against at Parkersburg Catholic.
