A celebration of life for Randall “Chad” King, age 46, of Pataskala, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Jeremy Piehler officiating.
Chad passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Grant Medical Center after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was born December 21, 1974 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Randall Frank King and Robin Dianne (Brookover) Carpenter.
Chad worked as a math educator, teaching most recently in the Newark City Schools. He had held earlier positions in the New Boston Schools, Buckeye Hills Tech Center, and at West Union High School. He married Angel, the love of his life, on December 21, 2002. Together, Chad and Angel were the proud parents of their children , Tori ,Courtney and Cullen. Chad could talk with anyone, but if someone truly wanted to see the real Chad King, they simply had to ask about his children or grandson.
Being a high school teacher, coach and advisor for over 20 years enabled Chad to work and guide thousands of students. He was a “constant” for many. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his family and supported them in all their interests. . His family is what he lived for each day. He was a proud and active Licking Heights Music Booster parent.
While Chad will be dearly missed by those who knew him, he would want everyone to know that he was prepared and eager to meet the Lord. His faith and belief were always the lantern that guided him through life. Chad, himself, stated that God had given him all he ever wanted. He said, “My entire life I prayed for a wife, a family and to be a math teacher. He provided me with everything I prayed for - I’m living the perfect life.” He lived each day content and happy.
Chad had a brilliant mind and a compassionate heart. Over the years as an educator, he attended many graduations. Death is a form of graduation. When we have taught all the things we came to teach, learned all the things we came to learn, then, we’re allowed to graduate from life. Leave it to Chad King to outshine us all. He mastered all life’s lessons in only 46 short years.
Without question, he will missed by his wife, Angel King; two daughters, Tori King and Courtney Faul; son, Cullen (Brianna) Harris and grandson William; parents, Robin (Ed) Carpenter, and Randy (Amanda) King; mother-in-law, Judy Throckmorton; a sister, Amanda Carpenter (Tom Harvey); two step-brothers, Evan (Lisa) Hughes and Justin (Brianna) Hughes; three grandmothers, Anna Jean Brookover, Carol Barnhart and Helen Carpenter; brother and sisters in law; nieces and nephews and the family dog, Mia.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott King; grandparents, Frank and Evelyn King, Ronald Brookover, Paul Barnhart, and Gene Carpenter and father-in-law David Throckmorton.
