Donald Robert Simons, 77, of Leroy passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 12, 1943 on Joe’s Run a son of the late Daniel and Belva Richards Simons. Don worked and retired from Century Aluminum where he was a mechanic after many years of service. He also loved to coon hunt and listen to bluegrass music.
Don is survived by his wife Barbara Casto Simons; daughters Lisa Casto (Scott) and Sherry Smith (Dirk); brothers Charles Simons (Debbie), Ray Simons, Darrell Simons (Diane) and David Simons; sisters Doris Blankenship (Donnie) and Carolyn Stiwald (Kirk); grandchildren Ryan Casto (Shayla), Christina Whitehouse (Darren), DJ Brown, Gregory Simons and Mandy Haid; great-grandchildren Heidi Boggess, Dylan Rutan, Daxon Whitehouse, Mayleigh Whitehouse, Raylan Casto, Zane Casto and Bella Casto.
In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by his son Timothy Robert Simons; brother Carroll Simons; sister Alice Casto; sister-in-law Brenda Simons and brother-in-law Donald Casto.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 2nd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery on Joe’s Run, Sandyville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Denzil and Twila Richards who lost their home to a fire.
