Rebecca Ann Sharp (Dalton), 74 of Ripley, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2020 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1946 in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Ray and Lilly Dalton. Rebecca is survived by her five sons: Lawton Turner Sharp III of Sherman, Thomas Ray Sharp of Inwood, Robert Alan Sharp (Eva) of Ripley, William Frank Sharp of Ripley, and Andrew Joseph Sharp (Tracy) of Cross Lanes. She had nine grandchildren: Ashleigh, Enoch, Nathaniel, Lily, Nina, Samuel, Caedmon, Josalyn, and Dalton. She also had two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Aiden.
Rebecca retired as a teacher from the public school system this past August after working for over forty combined years teaching in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. She finished as a physical education teacher at Ripley Elementary School where she loved teaching her students fun activities and the importance of health and exercise.
Rebecca loved her five sons dearly and sacrificed her time, money, and energy to provide for them as children and to help them when they needed it as adults. She set a great example for her family by her faith in Christ and her strong work ethic. She had a strong spirit and overcame many obstacles in this world. She believed and showed by example that in life you overcome your problems by facing them, and not by running from them. Rebecca was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She would share Jesus’ love with anyone she met. Her reward is in heaven. She also loved to participate in Bible studies at home. Rebecca enjoyed collecting antiques, going on walks, and spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Reverend Andrew Sharp will be officiating a graveside service on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Morgantown, WV.
Condolences may be shared with the family at Roush Funeral Home Facebook page or email condolences to firstname.lastname@example.org.
