Winnie Walters Debalski, 85, passed away at home on December 15, 2020.
She was born on September 24, 1935, in Ripley, WV, daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Walters.
Winnie retired from Verizon Phone Company with thirty years of service. Upon retirement, she traveled extensively for nine years in and out of the country.
She traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, Caribbean, Fiji Islands, Australia, New Zealand, and many trips to Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed traveling to foreign countries that she read about while in school.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; two sisters, Emma of Sandyville, WV, and Brenda of Gallipolis, OH; three brothers, Bill and Wynne of Sandyville, and Charlie of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Joe, Doc, Zeke and John; and two sisters, Blanche and Betty.
At her request, she will be cremated. Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood is handling all arrangements. Her ashes will be buried at the Ravenswood Cemetery at the foot of her husband’s grave.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date.
