Luther G. "Cricket" Shamblin

Sissonville - Luther G. "Cricket" Shamblin, 76 of Sissonville, passed away January 3, 2022 at Charleston Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 17, 1945 in Sissonville, a son of the late Olaf and Jewell Hamon Shamblin. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances Dragoo Shamblin; sons Donnie Shamblin of Wetzel Co., WV and Patrick Shamblin of Sissonville; sisters Carolyn Ray of Romance and Virginia Dillard of Liberty; brother Jack Shamblin of Sissonville; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary, Kenvil, Leroy, Shorty and Greg and sister Shirley.

The family would like to thank Wayne Wickline and Jerry Garnes for always being available to help them out and stopping to check on "Cricket".

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor David Spencer officiating. Burial with Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
