Cottageville - Larry Joe Durst, 78, of Cottageville, WV, passed away October 5, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born January 30, 1943, in Cottageville, WV, a son of the late Ernest Eudell and Ruth Virginia (Roush) Durst. His wife, Jean Ann Durst; brother, Clinton E. Durst also preceded him in death.

He was Mr. Red Devil in 1961 and a graduate of Ravenswood High School. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #132 Charleston, WV. At the time of his retirement, he was the Business Agent. He was a 50-year member of the Cottageville Lodge #54 AF & AM. He enjoyed restoring old cars in his spare time.

Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Lee Durst and Michelle of Mount Alto, WV and Randy Joe Durst and Kandy of Cottageville; grandchildren, Joshua A. Durst, Dillon K. Durst and Joseph E. Durst.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. ~ Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Jackson County Memory Gardens with Masonic graveside rites by Cottageville Lodge #54 AF & AM. Visitation will be Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV
