Ronald (Ron) Lynn Snyder
Ronald (Ron) Lynn Snyder (loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend) died on Friday, June 4, 2021. He was 73 years old. Ron was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on December 11, 1947 to Prentiss John (P.J.) and Mary Elizabeth Snyder.
Ron served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He earned two degrees from West Virginia University –first in Wood Industries and later in Business. His professional career was in IT, specializing in system design on main frame computers, and retiring in 2013.
Ron was married to his wife, Marsha, in December of 1982. Together they raised two children; Molly and Chris. Ron was a family man and a role model. He loved golf, music, WVU Mountaineers and LSU Tigers, games and strategies, canoe camping, and home projects. He was competitive and very detail oriented. Ron was diagnosed with Kidney cancer in February of 1996. He lived a normal life despite all the challenges and treatments during the following 25 years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Molly (Nathaniel) Knowles of Brooks, GA, and Christopher (Anna Schmoker) of S. Burlington, VT; siblings, Charles (Donna), Don (Diane), Roger, and Guy (Barbara); and grandchildren, Emma and Patrick Knowles; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Burial will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a foundation will be set up through the Piedmont Cancer Institute to help other cancer patients/family cover expenses of treatments. Send a request for details to email@example.com.
