Norma Lea Barnette
Sandyville - Norma Lea Barnette, 84 of Sandyville, passed away May 20, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 18, 1937 at Silverton, WV, a daughter of the late Lida Waitman Stalnaker and Macel Marie Casto. She attended Gilmore High School. She served as a 4-H and Girl Scout Leader and retired after 25 years from Jackson General Hospital as a Nurses Aide. Norma enjoyed Clogging, Gardening, Oil Painting and spending time with her dog, Lu Lu.
She is survived by daughters, Vicki Lynn Whited, Gwen Gaye Barnette and Cathy Faye Anthony; grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon and Chancey Gorrell, Tessa Raynes, Shane McDougal, Amber McDougal Logalbo, Jill Anthony, Anna Arison, Jessica Grilliot and Courtney Younger; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, Nathan, Kaitlin Jackson Gorrell, Lily and Audra Lynn Gorrell, Riley and Noal Raynes, Dreyden Logalbo, Raylea McDougal, Kassandra Decker, Skylar and Warren Arison and Isabella Younger. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband T.K. Barnette and son Leslie Allen Barnette; a brother Emmett Fields and sisters Madeline Hill, Josephine Kincaid, Carma Leada (Rudy) Kerns and Betty Jean Bailey.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, May 24, 2021 at the funeral home.
