Mrs. Mary Ellen Triplett Stanley

Cottageville - Mrs. Mary Ellen Triplett Stanley, age 82, a resident of Cottageville, West Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, West Virginia. She was born June 2, 1938 in Branchland, West Virginia. Born prematurely, Mary was not given hope of living by the doctor, but after being tended to by two aunts, Mary overcame the odds and continued to be a force and overcomer her entire life. After graduating from Guyandotte High School, she married the love of her life James Frank Stanley on December 22, 1956. After living for some time in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, her husband "Jimmy" went to work at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, West Virginia and they settled in the Evergreen Hills community to raise their two daughters. Jimmy and Mary were founding members of the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church in Cottageville where they continued to actively nurture and support the growth of the church the remainder of their lives, and Mary as such was the last surviving Charter Member. An industrious woman, Mary was employed at several places, owned and operated Jackson Furniture Store with her husband, and served as the Church Secretary/Treasurer for Evergreen Hills Baptist Church for over 30 years, a volunteer position which she was meticulously dedicated to. Most of all she was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Friend who served her Lord by among other things as a Faithful Deacon's wife supported the Ministry efforts of her husband Jim; and cared for those in need including in her own home. She particularly cared for her younger siblings after the death of her mother at an early age; and cared for her Father, her Mother-in-Law, Ruby Myrl Franklin Stanley, and her Brother-in-law, Ronald Stanley in her own home, all of whom preceded her in death. She has a tremendous influence and will be dearly missed. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, Corma Triplett and Thern Hodge Triplett; beloved husband of 58 years, James F. "Jim" Stanley; daughter, Betty Gail Stanley Reed; granddaughter, Chandra Broscious Margo; sister, Lorraine Speakman; and brothers, George Triplett and Tom Triplett; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Stanley, Robert Stanley, and Paul Stanley.

Those left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Carl Broscious of Oliver Springs, TN; son-in-law, Tim Reed of Gay, WV; grandchildren, Megan Reed Bond (Gill) of Cottageville, Gwendlyn Reed Richards (Matt) of Cottageville, Crystal Broscious Foster (Bruce) of Rockwood, TN, Cheree Broscious Hensley (Denny) of Wartburg, TN, Chad Broscious (Megan) of Oakridge, TN, Dan and Rebecca Margo of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Conner Bond, Jocelyn Richards, Colin Richards, Brady Margo, Ian Margo, Carlee Foster, Brooklyn Foster, Briley Foster, Ashtyn Hensley, Emberly Broscious, Channing Broscious, and Adelyn Broscious; sister, Lou Ann "Annie" Fenney of Huntington; brother, Pastor Roger Triplett (Carol) of Thonotosassa, FL; sisters-in-law, Elzora Triplett (Carol) of Ocala, FL, Lois Nibert of Ravenswood, WV and several nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends and her church family.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. at the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church, Cottageville. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., with her pastor, Pastor Mark Price and her grandson, Bro. Chad Broscious officiating. Committal services and interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 at Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, West Virginia. Jim and Mary would also like to cordially invite you to join them and their loved ones gone before in their new home. Jesus is the way.
