James Lynn Snelson, 65, of Gandeeville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 4, 1955 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Jake and Marjorie Christine Shannon. Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was currently a service technician for Wittenbach. “Jim Bob” as he was affectionately known was a beloved father who was very active in church. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting fishing, fourwheeler rides, target shooting, camping and woodworking.
He is survived by wife Angela Snelson his children Ethan and Emma Snelson; brother John Snelson of Cambridge, OH; sister Geneva Horvat of Wheeling; stepdaughter who he helped raise Jessica Reaser (Scottie); stepsons David Jones (Jane) and Donald Jones. He is also survived by several stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Wimer.
A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, June 12th at Goshen Church, Kenna with Pastor Allen Owens officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Following the services Military Rites will be provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. Private family burial will take place at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers if you would wish to make a memorial contribution they can be made to the Goshen Church.
