Mary K. Hill left this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 to be with the Lord. She passed away at her home in Liverpool, WV attended by her family. Mary was born on November 22, 1929 in her home in Liverpool, WV to William E. Richmond and Madeline Garrett. She attended local schools and graduated from Ripley High School in 1949. She was married to the love of her life, Rollie C. Hill, on August 17, 1947 and they remained husband and wife until his death on November 1, 2011.
They had three sons, Jeffrey, born in 1952, John in 1954 and James in 1962.
Rollie and Mary lived in Hurricane, WV and while there, she worked for the Putnam County Board of Education as both a school cook and teacher’s aide. In 1985 Rollie retired from Union Carbide and they moved back to their home in Liverpool and spent their retirement years farming and traveling.
Mary loved the Lord and both attended Church regularly, taught Sunday school and served in other church offices until her health failed. She was a Lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rollie and her brother William O. Richmond.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Edna), Lake Zurich, IL, John (Cindi), Liverpool, WV and Jim (Pam), Kingsport, TN. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jayme-Lee Goodrich (Rory), Richard Hill (Carrie), Jacob Hill (Leslie), Clayton Hill (Lauren), Leah Pope (Rob), Ben Hill (Rachel), Alex Dolin (Tiffany), and Brent Dolin. She is also survived by her great-grand children, Madison, Anna-Leigh, Tyler, Mary Lane, and Asa.
Mary will be laid to rest in a private family service due to the current national emergency and the family is tentatively planning a Celebration of Mary’s life at the Liverpool Methodist Church on August 8, 2020 at 11:00 am.
