Arbutus (Boots) Moore, 92, of Ravenswood, WV, met her Lord face to face on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
She was a kind, God loving lady with the heart of a true believer. Arbutus loved her family and was a devoted daughter, faithful wife, loving mom, and “Mamaw” to her many grandchildren and “Nana” to her many great grandchildren. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a devoted prayer warrior and a longtime member of the Ravenswood Church of God. She retired from Jackson General Hospital in Ripley with 23 years of service.
Arbutus is survived by her daughter, Diana Staats (Cole); her grandchildren, Shannon Perdue (Dwayne), Angela Graham (Mike), Tina Akers (Steve), Lita Simms (Lee), Bryan Staats (Linda), Shelly Dale (Brian), Dr. Sue Ann Tomblin, and Pamela Moore; 22 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and her siblings, Syvilla Morris, Roberda Curry, Janette Lovejoy, Nyoka Nafranowitz (Alex), and Dane Vickers (Diane); and brother-in-law, Bob Vandelinde.
In addition to her parents, Ezra and Grace Vickers, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Moore; her son, Shannon Moore; her grandson, Chris Moore; her brothers, Keith and J.D. Vickers; and her sister, Jean Ella Vandelinde.
The family will receive friends at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Toby Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV.
