Penny Lee Sizemore Mossor, 62 of Cottageville, WV exited our lives but not our hearts on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. Heaven Holds The Faithful Departed.
She was born October 26, 1956 in Charleston, WV, the daughter of Ned Z. and Doris (Samples) Sizemore of Cottageville, WV.
Penny graduated from Ripley High School with the class of 1974. She went on to further her education at Glenville State College where she met her husband David. Penny was an educator with the Jackson County Board of Education for 37 years, which she enjoyed very much. Her time was spent between Evans Elementary and Ripley Middle School.
Penny was a member of the Cottageville United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority where her homemade apple dumplings notoriously raised the most funds. Penny was always willing to help as she volunteered for community programs. She enjoyed feeding the entire Green Lot family at WVU Football games, motorcycle trips with her husband, canning with her niece, crocheting for her granddaughter, flowers and her favorite hobby- shopping.
She was united in holy matrimony to David A. Mossor of Pennsboro, WV for 40 memorable years. They were blessed with one son, Nicholas David Mossor. Nicholas and his wife Kathryn Mossor reside with their daughter and Penny’s beloved 2 year old granddaughter, Sophia Marie Mossor in Tuppers Creek, WV. Sophia was the light of MiMi’s life and now MiMi will be a guiding star light in heaven for Sophia.
Her beautiful life was cut short but will always be cherished in the lives of her close-knit family: her only brother, Kim A. Sizemore, Sister-in-law, Stephanie Jan Sizemore, niece, Christy S. Sizemore; nephew Mat Sizemore and his wife Tabitha Sizemore, and her 6 year old great nephew who adored his Aunt Penny- Zander Eugene Sizemore. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews along with her shopping and bowling partners.
Her generous spirit and pleasant personality made her loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as she could make it as she added bling and sparkle wherever she went. If one ever thought Heaven could not sparkle more, it will now that Penny Mossor has entered God’s kingdom with her glistening heart and glowing soul.
Penny’s Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 p.m. ~ Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the Casto Funeral Home in Evans, WV with Pastor Vera Archer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for family, friends and the community to donate to Sophia’s Collection in Memory of Penny Mossor Fund held at JCCF, Inc. Penny loved helping children, shopping and fashion. Children in need were always top priority for her to help. We have combined her loves by establishing a project to educate young ladies on appropriate formal attire and provide free ensembles to those who may not be able to afford such items. Donate online at jccfinc.org or mail donations to JCCF, 108 North Church Street, Ripley, WV 25271. Lets get this Penny Project started!
