Richard I. “Buckshot” Stout, 76, of Stonewood, WV, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Clarksburg on December 30, 1942, a son of the late Fred and Leila Modispaugh Stout.
Richard is survived by his four children; Kelly Lowther and husband of Youngstown, OH, Chris Stout of Clarksburg, Richie Stout of Martinsburg, and Jennifer Edwards and husband of Morgantown, nine grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren; his brother Fred Stout of Stonewood, niece Marsha Huet and husband of Clarksburg, LaDonna (Posey) Patterson and husband Dan of Mt. Alto as well as several other nieces and nephews; great-nephew Luke Patterson and wife, Donald Blackwell and wife, great-niece Velvett Stepp and husband and Satin Blackwell; 3 grand nephew and 4 grand niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents his sister Annabelle (Stout) Posey and brother-in-law Donald Posey.
Richard was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He was a PPG Industries employee for 11 years. He retired from Coca-Cola as a truck driver with 30 years of service.
Family and friends called at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00. Reverend Sherman Goodwin presiding. Per his request, Buckshot will be cremated following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Bridgeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to your favorite charity.
