Sharon Lynn Staats Adams, 76 grew up in Ripley and Ravenswood, West Virginia, and retired to Dunnellon, Florida in 2008.  Sharon departed this world for her eternal home on March 12, 2019 at Canterbury Towers Health Center in Tampa, Florida following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was born September 7, 1942 in Rupert, WV, to the late Glenn and Irene Staats, and graduated from Ripley High School with the Class of 1961. Sharon served alongside her husband Herbert H. Adams in the uniformed service for more than two decades.  During this time she was regularly involved in serving her community as a volunteer cosmetologist at hospitals and nursing homes. Sharon was passionate about her faith in Christ, and loved to share it with everyone.  She also enjoyed participating in activities where she could catch up with old friends and spend time with family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Mullins and Sondra Cook.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Herbert H. Adams; daughter Kelly Rogers and husband Alex of Tampa, FL; son Preston Adams and wife Beth of Ravenswood, WV; grandchildren Chelsey, Olivia, Sydney, and Shelby Rogers, and Brooklyn and Bryson Adams; sisters Lana Law, Judy Brown and Carolyn Fields; and brother Stacy Staats.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Ravenswood Freewill Baptist Church 5539 Flatwoods Rd, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
