Ruby Maxine Parsons, 89, of Evans, WV, passed away January 7, 2019, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.
She was born April 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Luther V. and Ivy Frances (Braham) Rhodes. In addition to her parents, her husband, Clayton Parsons; brothers, Leon, Luther Junior, Carl and Ernest Rhodes; sisters, Mae Randolph and Velma Landis, and stepsons, Tilden Parsons and Howard Parsons also preceded her in death.
Ruby worked in retail sales and was a former employee of Thomas and Wolfe and B & B Market. She was a former active member of the Jackson County Historical Society and she enjoyed genealogy and working in her lawn.
Survivors include her daughters, Bobbie Johnson (Bruce) of Ashburn, VA, Blenda Duckworth (Mitch) of Covington, VA, Belita Thomas (Jim) of Sandyville and Brenda Parsons of Evans; brother, James Wendall "Dusty" Rhodes of Paducah, KY; sisters, Marie Greene of Ripley and Hazel Randolph of Galion, OH; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and stepdaughter, Billie Jeanette Hiotakis of Sicklerville, NJ.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will follow in the Given Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
