Geneva M. Cutright Neal, 88 departed this life and went home to be with her Savior on Dec. 23, 2018. She was born May 5, 1930, in Thayer, WV. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cheslie and Claudie Cutright; four brothers, Cheslie Cutright, Jr., Jack Cutright, Wallace Cutright, and George Cutright; three sisters, Nadine Cutright, Jean Lucas, Patricia Holstein; and her husband of 57 years, Bill J. Neal.

Geneva accepted the Lord as her Savior as a teenager and served in various capacities in the churches where she lived. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ripley where she taught Sunday school and served as church treasurer. She was also a member of the Chapel of Christian Faith in Lady Lake, FL.

She graduated from Fayetteville High School and later worked for attorneys in Fayette and Jackson Counties as a legal secretary. She also worked for the Fayette County Board of Education, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and as a realtor while living in Tacoma, WA.

She is survived by two sons, David Neal, Sr. (Sharon) of Gonzales, LA, and Douglas Neal (Lori) of Mukilteo, WA; two grandchildren, David Neal, Jr. (Katie) and Samantha Neal Carroll, (Cody); and two great grandchildren, Harrison Neal and Malley Carroll.

At Geneva’s request there will be no viewing. There will be a short entombment service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in the Mausoleum of Peace in North Beckley, WV, on January 5, 2019, at 11:00 conducted by Rev. Andy Robinson. In Geneva’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ripley, WV, or any charity of your choice.
