Nola Gay Gray, 83 of Ravenswood, WV, passed away December 7, 2018, in Arbors of Pomeroy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.
She was born June 13, 1935, in Advent, WV, a daughter of the late Marshall and Belva L. (Rowley) Comer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Stephens; brothers, Dayton Comer and Marshall Comer, and sisters, Maxine, Nadine and Lola Faye.
Nola was a homemaker, a former waitress and a retired cook on riverboats from American Electric Power. She attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, James D. “Doug” Gray; sons, Allen Stephens and Michael Stephens both of Cottageville, and Greg Stephens of Beverly, OH; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a brother, Gary Comer of Ripley.
Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Committal service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV.
