Violet Lee (Mullins) Flinn, 70, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, after a very admirable and courageous battle with cancer. Violet was born in Clendenin, WV, September 6, 1947, a daughter of the late William Ray Mullins and Locie (White) Mullins.
Violet was a 1965 graduate of Ravenswood High School, attended North United Methodist Church where she served in many ways, and she also made many contributions to the community and our lives. She will be remembered for her love of God, family, and life that will remain in the family’s heart. She often expressed that her life’s greatest accomplishment was the wonderful children she raised.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Edwin D. Flinn; twin children, Mark Flinn of Dunbar, WV, and Amy (Flinn) Castle and her husband Tim of Charleston, WV, Richard Flinn (Jodi) of Mineral Wells, WV; grandchildren, Zachary Messenger, Kyle Flinn, Kendrick Flinn, Patrick Messenger, Brendin Flinn, and Alisha Flinn; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Flinn, Scarlet Flinn, Rainy Messenger; brothers, David (Ilona) Mullins and Clinton (Gene) Mullins of Ravenswood, Kenneth (Sue) Mullins of Doylestown, OH; Earshel Carl Mullins of Diamond, OH; sisters, Faye (Jim) Smith of Ravenswood, WV; Georgena Kosmo of Westerville, OH; Helen (C.G.) Marler of King, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janie Rae Flinn; infant brother Danny Mullins; infant sister, Caroline Mullins, and sister Barbara Gatrell.
Service will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 ~ 2 p.m. at the Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
