Ritchie Everet Greathouse, 81, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Ravenswood Village following an extended illness.

He was born March 14, 1937 in Coburns Creek, WV, a son of the late Bernard Franklin and Ethel Mae (Hawker) Greathouse. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Trina Sawyer; brothers Hawker and Bernard Greathouse; sister, Ruth Batts.

He was retired from the maintenance department at Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, WV, with 29 years of service. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local # 5668 Ravenswood. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church Ravenswood where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, treasurer and janitor. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Alice F. (Pierce) Greathouse; son Kelvin Scott (Kay) Greathouse of Ripley; daughter, Melanie (Jamie) Bartlett of Hamilton, OH; sister Ida Mae Poffenbarger of Ormond Beach, FL; son in law, Timothy Sawyer; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Service was held  Monday ~ 2 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor S.R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was from 12 p.m until time of service, Monday at the church. Arrangements provided by Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV.
