Gary Ray Keefer, 60, of Leon, WV, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at his home following an illness.

He was born March 27, 1958, in Leon a son of George Henry and Virginia Maxine (Fife) Keefer of Leon, WV.

He was retired from the Mason County Board of Education with 33 years of service from the maintenance department. He was the owner and operator of Mountain State Camo Dipping, Leon, W.V. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, camping, farming and cutting firewood.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 35 years, Brenda Lee (Thompson) Keefer; daughters, Nicole Renae Keefer and Grant Matheny of Morgantown, Chelsea Rae (David) Bowers of Point Pleasant; brother, G. Junior (Sandy) Keefer of Leon; mother and father in law, Violet Mae (Hill) Thompson and James Everett Thompson of Leon. He is also survived by a host of  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly

Service was held Saturday ~ 2 p.m., June 16, 2018 at the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastors, Richie Blain, Benjamin Riggleman and Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in the Creston Cemetery, Evans, WV. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
