Michael Wayne Blankenship, 73, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, WV, following a brief illness.

 He was born in Charleston on November 26, 1944, to the late James Clayton Blankenship and Gladys Blankenship Carr.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, George Carr; companion, Lula Belle Milhoan; brother, Clayton “Wally” Blankenship; and sisters, Drema Davis, Janice Campbell, Lana Campbell, and Linda Halstead.

He is survived by his daughters, Drema Smith (Matt) and Darla Blankenship; sister, Brenda Crowder (David), and brother, Jimmy Blankenship (Ginger); grandchildren, Hayley Skeens and Nolan Smith; and the many friends who loved him dearly.

 Honoring his wishes, there will be no service.  He was a Human Gift Donor and will be preparing students and future physicians with an understanding of human anatomy, which is one of the foundations of medicine.  His donation represents a true concern for the future health needs of the state and beyond.
