Tommy W. McCrady, 83 of Ripley, passed away February 7, 2018 at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness.

He was born September 9, 1934 at Gay, WV, a son of the late Walter and Wavie Whited McCrady. He was a former Mechanic at Fred Sayre Motors for 20 years and served in law enforcement with the City of Ripley, for almost 30 years, where he retired as the Chief of Police. Tommy was a trustee of Lowther Church and worked along with his wife in restoring and preserving the church. He was known for his love of cars and enjoyed restoring, cleaning and working on them in his spare time. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna Mitchell McCrady; a daughter, Pat Carney and her husband Steve of Gay; a grandson, Richard Carney and his wife Erika; great grandchildren Julia and Jacob Carney and a close friend whom was like a son, Rick Cain and his wife Mary Sue.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Baptist Grove Cemetery, Frozen Camp. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
