Jack Glenn Hatfield, 63, of Ripley, WV, formerly of Hanover, WV, passed away peacefully at home.  Born on October 6, 1954, at Bluefield, WV, he was the fourth child of the late Kennie Everette Hatfield and Bessie Muriel Armstrong Hatfield.

Jack dedicated his life to his two children as a caretaker, coach, and cheerleader.  He enjoyed swimming in Summersville Lake and spending time with his Granddog, Duke.  He was a Jeopardy wiz and an avid Mountaineer fan.  He kept his mind sharp with crossword puzzles.  Jack appreciated good conversation and never met a stranger.  He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed bicycling all over town.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two children:  Jaclyn Nicole Hatfield and Joshua Glenn Hatfield; three sisters:  Geraldine (the late Patrick) Mahoney, Rachael (Mark) Minor, and Mary Jane Hatfield; two brothers:  Kennie (Marge) Hatfield, Jr. and Dean (Holly) Hatfield; nieces and nephews:  Jimmy, Kennie Dean, Maria, Nancy, Kelly, Katie, Megan, Emily, Alex, Sarah, and John; former spouse, Myra Hatfield Ramirez; special friend, Tara Waybright; cherished childhood comrade Rosemary Berry; and many other family and friends.

Jack graduated from Baileysville High School (Class of 1972).  He attended Marshall University, Baylor University, Bluefield State College, and WVU-P.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jack was truly one of a kind and lived by his own rules.  His sudden passing has left a forever hole in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family especially wants to thank the Ripley Senior Center (Theresa; Meals on Wheels) for their kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jack’s name to:
