Gertrude Arlene Hardesty Bradley, 89 years, 11 months and 21 days, of Sandyville, WV, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior at her home surrounded by her three children, son-in-law, and her Pastor.  Born on January 27, 1928, in Lockhart, WV, she was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Erma Lockhart Hardesty of Lockhart; her husband of 46 years, Clyde Bradley; siblings, Robert, Lloyd, and Paul Hardesty; and Marjorie Williams.

Gertrude was a member of Sandyville United Methodist Church and the Sandyville United Women’s Unit where she faithfully attended and helped in many ways until her health declined so that she could no longer participate.

Gertrude worked for Sears and Roebuck before she married and had a family.  She married Clyde in 1960 and stayed home to be a wonderful wife and mother.

She leaves behind her three children, Pam Bradley Cunningham (Reggie) of Sandyville, Mark Bradley (Lori) of Millwood, and Myron Bradley of Sandyville.  She enjoyed her children, but she adored her grandchildren, Sara (JD) Haile, Amy (Joe) Farris, Luke (Stephanie) Cunningham, Ethan (Morgan) Bradley, Eric Bradley, and Erin Bradley.  Gertrude was blessed to have seven great grandchildren, Easton and Lakyn Haile, Phoebe, Emma and Josie Beth Farris, Maizy and Rylan Cunningham, and another one due in June that will carry on the Bradley name.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews to mourn her loss.

Gertrude had great care for the last 11 years from her son, Myron, and caregiver, Debbie Bowling.  She also had joy watching her pet Sammy play.

The visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Sandyville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jarrod Caltrider presiding.  Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery in Sandyville.
