Otis Gerald Stone, 86 of Given passed away January 10, 2018 at Ravenswood Village Health Care and Rehabilitation.

He was born August 9, 1931 in Putnam County, a son of the late Opha and Gladys Henson Stone. He worked in construction and was a member of the Laborers Union Local 1353. He also loved Farming. He was a trustee of the Mt. Zion Church on Jim Ridge. One of his great joys was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen Stone; a daughter, Linda Stover; a sister Erma Sayre and brothers Opha, Alvin and John Stone.

He is survived by daughters Janet (Arthur) Cain and  Nancy (Lawrence) Cain all of Given; grandchildren, Misty (Rodney) Lanier, Shannon (Davy) Fisher, Mendy (Eric) Fiori, Michelle Stover and Trent (Alisha) Cain;  great grandchildren, Ashtyn Johnson, Cole Fisher, Eliana Fiori, Lucille Fiori and Otis Fiori; brothers Milton (Barbara) Stone of Jim Ridge, Denver Stone of Leon and Roy (Patricia) Stone of Bancroft and sister Lavada (Dale) Casto of Buffalo.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Robert O. Watkins and Donnie Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jim Ridge, Putnam County. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Ravenswood Village Nursing Facility and Hospice for the loving care and compassion shown to Otis and all of the family during his time there. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in memory of Otis be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, 6341 McLane Pike, Red House, WV 25168.
