Dwight David  “Cat” Cather, 60, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley following a brief illness.  He was born May 26, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Herman Orville and Auline Goldie (Horner) Cather.

   David was a 1975 graduate of Ravenswood High School and attended Ohio University and Parkersburg Community College.  He was a pipeline inspector with Q.I.S. and a member of Laborers International Union Local # 1085 Parkersburg.  He was a licensed journeyman plumber and a former employee of Pete Gould and Sons, Pipeline Energy Group, Carl E. Smith and S.J. Groves Company. He was the former property manager for Laurel Commons Apartments, Ravenswood. He enjoyed fishing, golf, walking and playing his harmonica

In addition to his parents, his brother, Gary F. Cather, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Lynn (Williams) Cather; daughter, Brenna Elizabeth Cather and Lewis Araujo of Huntington; brother Orville Gene (Ann) Cather of Ravenswood; sisters, Linda Alice (Dave) Cunningham and Robin R. (Joe) Lowe both of Ravenswood; nephew, Andrew (Anna) Cather of Lincolnton NC, Chris Baker of Chattanooga TN; niece, Amy Fountaine of Kenova; sister-in-law, Sallie Cather of Murraysville.

Service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV with the Rev. Chris Skeen and Tommy Nutter officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, 6—8 p.m. at the funeral home.
