Marshall Cox, 85 of Silverton, passed away of a long illness, surrounded by his loving family on July 27, 2017 at Eldercare in Ripley, WV.

Marshall truly loved the Lord and read his Bible daily. He had read the complete Bible more than 20 times. He was a faithful member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir and served as a past deacon of the church.  Marshall was a member of the USWA Local 5668 and retired from Century Aluminum where he had over 38 years of service. His retirement was short as he went to work with K.S. of West Virginia and was in charge of the grounds maintenance. Marshall could always be found helping out his neighbors and he mowed many yards with his cherished John Deere Tractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gay and Naomi Cox of Silverton and his brother James Lloyd Cox of Silverton.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn Cox; daughter Debbie Roush (Rodney) of St. Albans; sons Mike Cox (Pam) of Martins Ferry, OH and Jeff Cox (Debbie) of Winchester, VA; sister-in-law Lucille Cox of Silverton. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jenni Funk (Chris), Ben Cox (Beth) and Sarah Kimbro (Billy), four great grandchildren, Katie, Jackson, Hannah and Brooke and many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Eldercare of Ripley for all the love and care they showed Marshall and his family in his last days.
