Charles Clayton Moore, 77 of Ripley passed away April 11, 2017 at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born October 3, 1939 at Walton, a son of the late Arthur Clayton and Virginia Gertrude Walker Moore. Charles was a graduate of Walton High School and retired from Appalachian Power Company as a Contract Administrator with 34 years of service.
He attended the Epworth United Methodist Church and was a former Mason and Shriner. Following his retirement in 2000, Charles and his wife Norma enjoyed traveling and were members of the Airstream Club. They traveled most of the Eastern United States and Canada and the past 17 years wintered in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Slaughter Moore; a son, Steve Moore and his wife Pam of Ripley; grandchildren, Casey Cummings, Michael Moore and Michele Moore; brother DeVaughn Moore of Cross Lanes; sisters Connie Ashley of Clendenin, Brenda Knapp of Walton, Debbie Eastman of Clendenin and Judy Shaffer of Walton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Moore Cummings; a brother Michael Moore and a sister Doris Westfall.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 pm until the time of Service on Saturday at the funeral Home.
