Conza C. Harpold Raines departed this life on November 12, 2016.

She was born at Brush Run near Gay, WV on September 20, 1924, daughter of I.N. (Nute) and Mahala Casto Harpold. After graduating from Ripley High School she was employed by the Jackson County Extension Services (later known as WVU Extension Service) for 43 years and retired in 1989.

In 1945 she married Golden Raines and had one daughter, Brenda Jean Raines Heilmann. Conza loved dancing, word search books, jigsaw puzzles as well as her flowers and gardening. She was a 4-H leader for seven years and took an active part in the Jackson County Jr. Fair from its beginning until recent years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 46 years, her brothers John Folie (Vesta) Harpold, Harland “Bill” (Garnett) Harpold, Lafayette (Edna) Harpold, Fred (Clara Selby) Harpold and Edwin (Speedy) Harpold.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Jim Heilmann; grandsons Michael, Matthew, Bill, Chuck and Dennis Heilmann; 11 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, extended family members Teresa Griffith and Glen “Jr.” Sladen and a multitude of friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.

An additional visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Casto Funeral Home, Evans.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans with John Gunther officiating. Burial will follow in the Otterbien Cemetery, Evans.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in memory of Conza be made to the Jackson County WVU Extension Service for 4-H Camp Scholarships.
