Jack Lee Pursley, 69, of Sandyville, WV, passed away October 27, 2016, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born February 17, 1947, in LeRoy, WV, the son of the late Glen and Dena (McVay) Pursley. His granddaughter, Emily Pursley; brother, Delmar Pursley and his sister, Deloris Delaney also preceded him in death.

Jack was a graduate of Gilmore High School, a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church, served in the United States Army Reserve, was retired from the plate department at Alcan Rolled Products with 43 years of service and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union, Local #5668.

 He was owner and operator of Pursley Miniature Horses and Exotic Animals and went to many fairs and other venues to show his Charolais cattle and miniature horses at the local and national level. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kay (Hill) Pursley; sons, Jason (Cathy) Pursley and Tracy (Dortha) Pursley; stepson, John Bowles, Jr.; stepdaughter, Amy (Ron) Perdue; grandchildren, Dustin (Lauren) Pursley, Jake Pursley, Kurt Pursley, Mikayla Pursley, Morgan Pursley, Destiny Hope Thomas, Brandon Perdue and Madisson Perdue; great grandchildren, Jack C. Pursley, Giuiliana Perdue; brothers, Don (Nina) Pursley and Dale (Dessell) Pursley; sister, Jerri (Jerry) Greathouse; sister-in-law, Norma Pursley and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Mark Gerstell officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, prior to time of service at the funeral home.
